Came back from Pulicat lake.
Contrary to what i had read on the internet (mostly wikipedia), i couldn't appreciate the place.

Maybe because i didn't visit the places i was supposed to visit.
Maybe because there were no places.
Maybe because i didn't ask the locals (as if they would have told me...i didn't know tamil and they had no idea of english or hindi)

Anyways, the best part was the dutch mausoleums. A declared world heritage site, but in such a plight. This, incidently was my first visit to a world heritage site... atleast i think so...

Anyways the trip was good all in all. Went by a local train upto sullurpet, then by bus to pulicat, then by a boat to the pulicat island, walked all of 20 km along the beaches in harsh noon. At the end of the trip, i was exhausted like hell. came back the same route except that after getting down at chennai central, didn't feel like arguing with the autowalas so walked the last stretch of 3-4 km again... That was the day i was tired to my death.
Did manage to click a few good picks.

Just for the record since then, i have bought a skoda fabia and plan to go to that place again, this time though i'd drive there and may as well go upto the Sri Harikota Launching Site...
It would be like a dream come true... Who said NASA was all there was as far as technology is concerned.

Hope some day soon I will write about the place that has made india the proudest.
